The State of Publishing in Canada 2025 Introduction 4% of survey complete. This survey asks publishers in Canada questions about their businesses and experiences in the book industry supply chain, focusing on the trade market in Canada. Your answers will enable data-driven decision-making for your company and other publishers across the industry and will provide an overall view of the health of publishing in Canada.What we do with your data: Personal identifying information (name, email, company, and role) will only be used internally within BookNet Canada to track responses and follow up as needed. Non-personal identifying data will be released in aggregate form. All responses will be kept anonymous. You can read more in our Privacy Policy and view how the results of the last edition of this survey were shared in the report, The State of Publishing in Canada 2023.What you’ll need to complete this survey: Before you begin the survey, it will be helpful to have a rough idea of sales and returns for 2025, broken down by market, format (print, ebook, audiobook), distribution channels, and genre/category. Please be as forthcoming as possible and provide as much information as you can to the best of your ability. Where applicable, you will be asked to either select a range or provide an approximate estimate. Knowing exact numbers is not necessary.
